Roots of Gratitude: A Thankful Tree Planting

Dear Friends of the SoPac Trail,

I’m filled with gratitude for another successful tree-planting event! We were able to plant seven beautiful oaks along the SoPac Trail by Fisher Rd. Irrigation systems have been installed to ensure these shade trees thrive for years to come. It was a fantastic day, with everyone—especially the kids—enjoying the chance to get their hands dirty! We were also lucky to have Dallas Park and Recreation board member Maria Hasbany join us as a volunteer. A big thank you to Chris McMaster, Dallas Park and Recreation Urban Forest Manager, Maria, our board, and all the volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to dig in!

A special thanks to our donors, the Texas Tree Foundation, and Dallas Park and Recreation for making this rewarding morning possible. And, of course, a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Friends for your generous support during North Texas Giving Day. Your contributions made this tree planting possible, and thanks to your kindness, trail users will be able to enjoy these beautiful trees for many years to come.

Together, we are helping to beautify and enhance the trail for all to enjoy! Lots to be thankful for this season.

Thanks again,

Felix Saucedo
Chairman, Friends of The SoPac Trail Steering Committee
