North Texas Giving Day - Give Early
Friends of The SoPac Trail,
It’s that time of year again. On Thursday, September 19, 2024, Friends of the SoPac Trail is participating in Communities Foundation of Texas' NTX Giving Day!
Lucky for us, early giving starts now…GIVE TODAY!
We are raising funds to support our mission of bringing people closer to nature, improving the trail, and making the experience a breath of fresh air for walkers, runners, and cyclists. We are all in!
This year we planted new trees and received approval to add shade trees to the east side of the trail between Fisher Road and the trail. Running irrigation lines to ensure that the trees thrive is critical. Your generous donation helps fund this project.
In high demand, we are planning new signage to identify bridges that traverse the SoPac to help trail users orient during use. In addition, through the work of one of our committee members and our Park Board Representative, Maria Hasbany, wayfinding signage will also be installed along the trail by the Dallas Park and Recreation Department identifying upcoming parks and trail crossings.
FOTST continues to partner with The Dallas Trails Coalition and The Loop Dallas to advocate for the security, safety, and beautification of ALL trails, including ours. Dallas continues to develop an extensive network of trails requiring ongoing engagement and backing from FOTST. Leading our trail community, we are proud of our continued dedication to the pollinator garden and maintaining a graffiti-free trail.
This requires a lot of sweat equity and financial support. You can count on us for the sweat equity. Can we count on you for financial support?

Adding location signs to the trail underpasses
Continuing graffiti paint-overs
Adding irrigation and planting additional trees
Adding additional respite areas
Tending the Pollinator Garden, including fertilizer, topsoil, and mulch
Hosting another neighborhood Garden Party
